   My LJMU, Canvas, Outlook and the Microsoft Authenticator apps are essential for all new students.

2. Add the pronunciation of your name to your email signature

   NameCoach software has been integrated with LJMU systems to help users add name pronunciations at the bottom of email signatures.

3. LJMU strengthens its commitment to the Armed Forces community

   A cross-university Steering Group has been created and an Armed Forces Champion appointed, to support students, staff and the wider community who have a connection to the Armed Forces.

4. Transformative criminological research celebrated at FACT 20th anniversary

   Dr Emma Murray, a Reader in Military Veteran Studies, has been collaborating with FACT since 2014 and in 2019 became FACT’s Criminologist-in-Residence.

5. Pupils take part in Great Debate heat at LJMU

   LJMU hosted a heat of the Historical Association’s Great Debate 2024 public speaking competition, welcoming four schools on to campus.

6. International curriculum handbook to enhance teaching of technology education

   Dr Matt McLain, a Senior Lecturer in Education and Professional Learning in the School of Education has co-edited the Bloomsbury Handbook of Technology Education, a forward thinking new text that brings together international perspectives to enhance technology teaching.

7. MA Short Film Festival 2023 returns 24 to 31 March

   The festival returns for its third edition, featuring 42 films from across the globe that showcase the work of the best and brightest emerging student filmmakers.

8. Varsity 2023: LJMU vs UOL

   The age-old rivalry between Liverpool John Moores University and University of Liverpool takes place this month with a series of sporting events.

9. Sports Journalism Student wins prestigious NCTJ Award

   MA Sports Journalism Student, Jack Kinsella has won the ‘Best Student Project’ at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Awards for Excellence.

10. Prestigious civil engineering title for Dr Ana Bras

    Dr Ana Bras has been named as a policy fellow within the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the UK’s leading source of expertise in civil engineering.
