1. In memoriam: Caroline Chinn

   It is with great sadness that the university announces the death of Caroline Chinn following a long illness.

2. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

3. Teaching textile and craft processes to high school pupils

   Staff and students from the Liverpool School of Art and Design have opened their workshops to pupils from Crosby High School as part of a four-month long collaboration exploring university learning.

4. Alumnus wins coveted poetry prize

   We’re thrilled to learn that one of our Creative Writing graduates, Callan Waldron-Hall, was recently recognised for his outstanding writing at the Poetry Business New Poets Prize.

5. Update: LJMU Induction Week and Freshers 2022

   Monday 19 September will be a Bank Holiday for all students

6. Tithebarn Street roadworks (from 3 June 2019)

   Please be aware that major roadworks will begin on Tithebarn Street on Monday 3 June.

7. Celebrating Black History Month

   For this year's Black History Month celebrations, LJMU is involved in a range of events.

8. Community Engagement: Faculty's open door to research

   Arts, Professional and Social Studies hosts BIG IDEAS event on June 8.

9. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

10. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

    From this month LJMU will begin publishing all student and staff security card photos into Microsofts 365 suite of products.
