    Back in 2007 LJMU acknowledged the then Prince of Wales with an Honorary Fellowship and hosted him during the tenth Roscoe Lecture series. Dedicating much of his life to others, as the heir apparent to the throne, HRH The Prince of Wales was recognised for his services to charity, education and the environment.

    Research within the Contexts of Human Evolution Group involves archaeological, palaeontological and environmental analyses of human evolution. Our research focuses on mammalian evolution, hominin behaviour and ecology, and patterns of faunal and floral distribution.     Organized since 2002 under the auspices of the Fluvial Hydraulics Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), the River Flow Conference Series has become one of the main international forum for dissemination of research and industrial practice on fluvial hydraulics and river engineering.
