    There are a number of initiatives and organisations that support employers to ensure that their recruitment process and working practices do not discriminate against jobseekers and employees with a disability or long-term health condition.

  2. Stonewall

    In 2022, Liverpool John Moores University renewed their Diversity Champions membership, to ensure the continuation of our LGBTQI+ staff feeling free to be themselves and to continue the work to increase the feeling of belongingness.

    Whether you are studying at university for the first time or returning as a postgraduate student, our academic staff are here to ensure you have an amazing teaching and learning experience.

  4. Study in the US

    LJMU has an exchange programme with Southern Connecticut State University. Find out how you can study for a semester in an American University.

  5. Starting a new job

    If you have accessed support for your disability or health condition throughout school and university, e.g. in the form of a support plan or funding, you might be concerned about similar support being available to you in the workplace.

  6. Athena SWAN

    Liverpool John Moores University joined the Athena SWAN charter in 2014 and was first presented with an Institutional Bronze award in 2014, in recognition of ongoing work relating to gender equality. Since then, LJMU had a second successful submission of their Institutional Bronze award in 2017.

  7. Training, workshops and events

    LJMU’s EDI Team are proud to be working in partnership with an array of equality and diversity training specialists and subject matter experts, in order to offer the opportunity to participate in workshops and training.
