   We talk to Dr Robert Hesketh from the School of Justice Studies about his research into drug dealing as a substitute for employment in Merseyside street gangs.

9. Policing students become 'nighttime guardians' for safer streets in Merseyside

   The development of the ‘guardian project’ will see LJMU student volunteers be trained alongside street pastors to provide support, to those who need it, in Liverpool’s night-time economy, such as helping people get home or providing emotional support.

    LJMU buildings will move to summer opening hours from Monday 19 June.
