A renowned comedian and writer, the Public Health England national lead for mental health and wellbeing and an LJMU Honorary fellow were among the impressive speakers that informed and enlightened almost 300 delegates at the Let's Talk Disability and Mental Health Conference.
Prof Padam Simkhada, Professor of International Public Health at the Public Health Institute, Liverpool John Moores University, delivered the keynote speech in the International Conference on Mixed Methods Research (ICMMR 2019) at the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India on Saturday 23rd February 2019. Professor Simkhada also gave an inaugural speech on the implications of mixed methods on health service research during the conference inauguration ceremony.
More than 250 delegates gathered for LJMU's third Professional Services Conference, with the theme ‘Working together to achieve results in an uncertain HE environment’.

The Football Exchange, from the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, hosted its first ‘Psychology of Football’ conference. The event, endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES), was attended by over 120 delegates, including representatives from every English Premier League club, the Scottish Leagues and women’s football, with practitioners travelling from across the UK, Holland, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, Poland and the US.
Russian journalists visited LJMU as part of a tour of UK education establishments, organised by the British Council.
LJMU as the Consortium Secretariat played a leading role in organising the five-day event.
All staff are invited to attend the Research and Knowledge Exchange Conference 2023, taking place in December.
Liverpool has been recognised for its rich sporting and cultural history by securing the chance to host the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) Global Coach Conference in 2017.
