1. Staff Car Parking Update

   Following a recent review of LJMU staff car parking provision, the university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2023.

2. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

   From Monday 12th September, ITS will begin publishing all staff and student security card photos into Microsoft's 365 suite of products.

3. Women in Professional Services event: Wednesday 12 October 2022

   Staff are invited to the first face-to-face networking event organised by the Women in Professional Services (WPS) Network, taking place on Wednesday 12 October 2022 at the Student Life Building with guest speaker Dawn Corker.

4. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

5. Centre for Educational Research seminar series 2022-23

   Next month, the Centre for Educational Research (CERES) seminar series kicks off with two online events taking place every month from October through to May.

6. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.

7. Professorship and Readership Conferment: Call for submissions

   Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2020 is now open.

8. Industry trip wins Data Science students €25,000

   Young research students who won a major European data science competition have shared a prize of 50,000!

9. Anthropologists play down links between modern humans and Denisovans

   An anthropologist at Liverpool John Moores University and other researchers have played down links between modern Asian physiology and a recently discovered early human species, Denisova hominins.

10. 300 children's horizons widened by Christmas Space Lecture

    STARRY-EYED schoolchildren from across Merseyside enjoyed the Liverpool Space Lecture yesterday.
