1. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

2. MA Short Film Festival 2023 returns 24 to 31 March

   The festival returns for its third edition, featuring 42 films from across the globe that showcase the work of the best and brightest emerging student filmmakers.

3. Could you present at the LJMU Students at the Heart Conference 2023?

   Submissions are welcome from students and staff across the university.

4. Students celebrate Grand National

   LJMU students and alumni joined forces with Crabbie's Grand National to showcase elements of the three-day world-renowned racing Festival at the Museum of Liverpool.

5. Light Night 2016

   LJMU has again been announced as the principal sponsor of LightNight, Liverpool’s one-night arts festival, with the University supporting the event for the third year running.

6. Bid to stop stigma of menstruation in Nepal

   LJMU researchers have secured a £300,000 grant from the British Academy to tackle the stigma faced by Nepalese women during menstruation.

7. Students at the Heart Conference 2023 submissions now open

   Submissions from across the LJMU community and our partner organisations are now being sought for the 2023 conference taking place in June.

8. Fault reporting processes for the new academic year

   As the new academic year begins and our campus becomes busy once more, staff are reminded to ensure that all faults are reported via the respective Helpdesks.

9. SPRAT exciting new instrument arrives on Liverpool Telescope

   The Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI) has announced the successful commissioning of an exciting new instrument on the Liverpool Telescope (LT).
