   Professor Mark Power is the university’s fifth Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, having committed to a lifelong working career at the university for more than 42 years. 9. Royal Society Partnership Grants

   Partnership Grants of up to £3000 are available to schools to enable students to carry out science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) projects. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences runs two of these projects per year.

    The Astrophysics Research Institute is interested in star formation, stellar evolution, time-domain astrophysics, galaxy formation and clusters, dynamics and evolution. Our aim is to become an internationally recognised centre of excellence in astrophysics.
