1. Pregnant women 'should not be jailed'

   Subject Lead in Criminal Justice in the School of Justice Studies campaigned for a change in the guidance to courts sentencing pregnant women

2. LJMU host third annual research conference on menstruation

   More than 125 people took part in workshops and discussions on inclusive menstruation

3. LJMU joins Higher Education, Transnational Education (TNE) mission to Vietnam and Cambodia

   During the mission, LJMU were able to showcase their University offerings, meet with the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Gareth Ward, and hold business to business meetings to ignite discussions surrounding the development of transnational education opportunities.

4. Gouldian finches black-headed females taking the lead when faced with possible danger

   Endangered species like the Gouldian finch struggle in adapting to ever increasing habitat change, but black-headed females are leading the way in their survival.

5. Maritime SuperSkills Project

   Event to celebrate the successful completion of the project at the Maritime Museum, Royal Albert Dock on 13th June 2019. Attended by Iain McKinnon, Secretary Maritime Skills Alliance, local and national employers and LJMU staff who have helped with the project.

   Professor Harry Sumnall appointed by Home Office to UK Advisory Council on Misuse of Drugs

9. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.
