   For the last two years we have been involved in the Whitechapel Christmas Appeal and thanks to you all donating an amazing amount of gifts, you helped make Christmas special for The Whitechapel Centre clients. We are delighted to be supporting the initiative again and hope that you're are all feeling as generous as in previous years.

3. Respect Always Coffee and Catch Ups this November

   Do you feel respected within LJMU? All staff are invited to Respect Always 'Coffee and Catch Ups' throughout November to tell us your thoughts. Refreshments will also be provided.

4. Student Led European Youth Parliament Regional Debating Event

   A European Youth Parliament (EYP) regional debating event was hosted on campus on Wednesday 28 February, organised by LJMU students Rachael Carroll and Zoe Woodward.

   The university is deeply saddened by the death of Peter Johnson.

6. Molecular 'track-and-trace' of ocean life outperforms traditional fish and marine surveys

   Scientists who track-and-trace fish for a living claim that analysing seawater can tell us the richest story of what lies beneath the waves.

7. Teaching staff urged to sign-up for My Pensions Online

   The start of the academic year can be a good time to review your pension arrangements. All academic teaching staff are reminded that they can sign-up to an online portal if they are members of the Teachers Pension Scheme.

9. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy update

   The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy (RPEL) has been updated to incorporate requirements for RPEL assessment for Apprenticeship programmes, and to reflect changes to governance related to RPEL.

10. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

    LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).
