1. Technicians survey 2024 to remain open for a further fortnight

   The National Technician Development Centre (NTDC) Technicians Survey at LJMU is open for responses for a further two weeks until Friday 5 April.

2. Sensor City moves into Liverpool Science Park ahead of launch

   Liverpool’s Sensor City project has moved into Liverpool Science Park (LSP) ahead of the opening of its official home at Copperas Hill in 2017. Established hi-tech sensor businesses, start-ups and graduate entrepreneurs from across the region will be able to get access to leading experts and world-class research from the field of sensor technologies and learn more about how they can benefit from Sensor City in the run up to the building’s opening in July 2017.

3. Making Every Contact Count staff training: September to December

   Book onto the mental health and wellbeing training now.

4. Menopause cafes throughout 2024

   This year we will once again host four menopause cafes for our staff, with the first taking place on Tuesday 16 January, and anyone wishing to attend can book via the staff wellbeing events page.

5. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

6. Maritime SuperSkills Project

   Event to celebrate the successful completion of the project at the Maritime Museum, Royal Albert Dock on 13th June 2019. Attended by Iain McKinnon, Secretary Maritime Skills Alliance, local and national employers and LJMU staff who have helped with the project.

   Clean Growth UK initiative impacts 2,300 organisations

8. Gaza war: as ceasefire talks break down the humanitarian crisis continues to escalate

   Supply chain and operations experts from LJMU and the Hanken School of Economics describe the latest developments in supplying aid to Gaza.

9. Staff networks explored, explained and celebrated

   Staff recently came together to celebrate the power of staff networks in the workplace and to mark the launch of the Admin and PA Staff Network.

10. Armistice Day 2022 arrangements

    We will mark Armistice Day by observing a two-minute silence at 11am on Friday 11 November.
