1. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

2. Apply to study abroad

   Applications for LJMU’s study abroad programme are now open. Students can apply to spend either one semester or an academic year abroad at one of LJMU’s partner institutions across the globe.

3. Research aims to better connect disabled children with local sport

   LJMU researchers in sport science hope to make a difference to the lives of children with learning disabilities through their Movement Matters community research project.

4. Business School leads sustainability teaching innovation and research

   Liverpool Business School recently hosted innovators from 10 countries in the first European Symposium for Sustainability in Business Education.

5. Menopause cafes throughout 2024

   This year we will once again host four menopause cafes for our staff, with the first taking place on Tuesday 16 January, and anyone wishing to attend can book via the staff wellbeing events page.

6. School pupils capture their future in creative designs

   As part of their tenth year in the John Lennon Building celebrations, the Liverpool School of Art and Design posed this question to pupils at St Nicholas Catholic Primary School, providing a chance for artistic designs to flourish and future aspirations to be discussed.

7. Summer graduation 2024

   This July, LJMU celebrated the achievements of 5,341 students who graduated across 15 ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

8. World’s rarest great ape virtually wiped out in a century

   The survival of the worlds rarest great ape the Tapanuli Orangutan is hanging in the balance, according to a team of scientists.

9. LJMU partner in £9m project to enhance digital connectivity in high density areas

   Computer science and maths experts will help to model and investigate both the security and performance of a new telecoms network.
