   Liverpool Health Commission, supported by LJMU, is currently midway through its inaugural investigation and is able to report a number of emerging themes.

3. LJMU to run UK's only degree on climate change

   LIVERPOOL has achieved a climate first by launching the UKs first degree in climate change studies.

4. Are you ready for National Student Money Week?

   During week commencing Monday 3 February 2020, LJMU will be taking part in National Student Money Week. The theme for this year is 'Spend Healthy, Live Healthy: Sustainable Money' and during the week we will focus on reducing waste and saving money.

5. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

6. New corporate charities

   We are delighted to announce our two new Corporate Charities - Claire House Children's Hospice and The Girls Network.

7. Hundreds of local school pupils get taste of university

   LJMU welcomed almost five hundred Year 11 pupils to its Future Focus Days as part of the Universitys sustained widening access programme, giving young people an insight into the opportunities Higher Education can offer.

8. LJMU donates microscopes for African youngsters

   A project is underway to ship LJMU microscopes to Africa.

9. New facilities now open at Avril Robarts Library

   Two newly-refurbished floors of Avril Robarts Library are now open!

10. We know more about relationships now than we knew before 

    A collaboration with pupils and staff at St Vincent's school and funded by Children in Need Janette Porter and Kay Standing from Sociology, supported by LJMU placement students
