2. Launch of Liverpool Centre for Olympic Research on Inclusion

   LJMU has launched the first worldwide Liverpool Centre for Olympic Research focussing on Inclusion ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

3. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

4. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

   LJMU is the UK partner in educating maritime project Skillsea

6. Worrying trend of children 'in care' still living at home

   Researchers at Liverpool John Moores University are set to investigate a worrying phenomenon in the North West of England that is seeing increasing numbers of vulnerable children placed into local authority care yet remain living at home. 

7. LJMU launch new Disability Sport and Physical Activity Network (DisSPA)

   LJMU were joined by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE DL & Professor Greg Whyte to launch new Disability Sport and Physical Activity Network (DisSPA Network) this month.

8. Screen School student hailed at international film festival

   A Screen School student has won first prize at the 2019 Pesaro Film Festival. Taking place in Pesaro, Italy, the festival recognises the talents of established and emerging filmmakers, and confers awards covering a range of areas, including a category for university students.

9. LJMU libraries maintain Customer Service Excellence Award

   Library Services also recognised for being exceptional in 10 areas.
