   Here are some highlights of what happened at the first two graduation ceremonies of the week.

2. International sport coaching programme in Malta hits the right mark

   International specialists in the field of sport coaching at LJMU visited Malta this month, rounding off the academic year, as they brought together UK-based MSc Sport Coaching students with their Maltese counterparts on the MSc International Sport Coaching programme.

3. LJMU postgraduate Sport Psychology programme first of only three in country to gain BASES accreditation

   The School of Sport & Exercise Sciences at LJMU is one of only three universities to have its MSc Sport Psychology course accredited by professional body, the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

4. Meera Syal's praise for LJMU illustrator

   Actress and writer Meera Syal has praised the talent of her illustrator - a Liverpool School of Art and Design student.

5. Alumnus wins coveted poetry prize

   We’re thrilled to learn that one of our Creative Writing graduates, Callan Waldron-Hall, was recently recognised for his outstanding writing at the Poetry Business New Poets Prize.

6. This time last year LJMU student and now graduate Nathan Bickerton, went viral

   He was offered a job just fifteen minutes after creating a Wikipedia page and tweeting The Diary of a CEO host and BBC Dragon, Steven Bartlett. Here he tells us about the whirlwind of a year he's had, what his LJMU undergraduate and postgraduate degrees taught him, and his own tips for how to stand out from the crowd in the job market.

7. Graduation review: Wednesday 10 July

   Students from Liverpool Screen School, the School of Law, Liverpool School of Art and Design and the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies received their awards.

   Aardman Animations is teaming up with creative technology experts in Liverpool to develop research for an immersive Shaun the Sheep experience in China.

9. LJMU Cycling Club ride Liverpool to Paris distance in 24-hour fundraiser

   LJMU Cycling Club took part in a non-stop 24-hour ride last week, raising over £200 for the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

10. Graphics alumna commissioned for high profile arts campaign

    Graphic Design and Illustration alumna, Lauren McLardy has been commissioned to create a new piece of work for Coventry City Council to mark World Mental Health Day 2020.
