1. LJMU Staff Networks and plans for 2022 

   We caught up with the co-chairs of the current LJMU staff networks to find out what they have already achieved and what their plans are for 2022.  

2. Launch of Women’s Professional Services Staff Network 

   LJMUs newest staff network has launched this February with over 70 attendees from across Professional Services attending the event online. 

3. IWD: Women still earn £8,000 less than men - report

   Women still earn around £8,000 less than men in the Liverpool City Region, a new report has identified.

4. Staff event at Student Life Building

   Our next staff open day at the Student Life Building takes place on Wednesday 24 November, with networking opportunities, a chance to find out more about the building and its services, plus a free lunch.

5. Staff dental plan

   An opt-in period is now open for a staff dental plan.

7. Academic Board Elections - Teaching Staff

   Elections for the Academic Board teaching staff will take place from 24th May until 11th June 2019.

8. Empowering staff to support PGRs from racially minoritised groups

   Academic and professional services staff who support PGRs have a bespoke training and development opportunity designed by the educational charity Grit Breakthrough. Using a coaching approach to support PGRs is a two-day online coaching workshop, which will run across two days in November.

9. New Staff Gardening Group

   The School of Biological & Environmental Sciences has been working on a project to improve Byrom Street Campus with 10 urban wildlife gardens.

10. Academic Board Elections - Non-Teaching Staff

    Following the call for nominations, an election for the non-teaching member of staff on Academic Board will take place.
