   World AIDS Day takes place on 1st December each year.

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

   Singsongs, card games and radio shows would not normally be part of a History degree unless you are lucky enough to be taught by lecturer Lucinda Matthews-Jones, that is.

6. LJMU pioneers nursing 'transition' course for refugees

   NURSES from overseas are being recruited to join the NHS workforce under a scheme piloted in Liverpool.

7. Machines that 'learn how to learn'

   Researchers have developed a new approach to machine learning that mimics humans ability to learn how to learn.

8. Research and Innovation Day Invites Entries to Scholarly Snaps Competition

   The competition for scholarly snaps will take place again at this year's Research and Innovation Day on Wednesday 19th June. To be a part of this competition please submit your pictures by Wednesday 5th June.

9. Praise for LJMU’s support of care leavers from Minister for Higher and Further Education

   LJMU deserves the highest praise for their success according to the Minister for Higher and Further Education, after it was the first of only four institutions to be awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark.

10. LJMU launches pioneering scheme with senior Black leaders from across the Liverpool City Region

    The launch of the programme, yesterday evening at Liverpool John Moores University, saw the 26 leaders finding out who they had been paired with.
