2. LJMU team takes on Kilimanjaro

   A team of 17 self-named Kilimanscousers including LJMU Students, LJMU alumni and Liverpool professionals will climb Kilmanjaro this August.

3. Responding to our Community and Neighbourhoods

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. 4. Call for submissions: Teaching and Learning Conference 2020

   This year's conference will take place on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June and submissions are now invited from staff and students and collaborative partner institutions, as well as other colleagues working in post-16 education.

5. LJMU Screen School students’ big break with ‘The Batman’

   Four lucky Liverpool John Moores University Screen School students got the opportunity of a lifetime when they joined the production staff for the filming of The Batman, which premieres this week.

6. Vice Chancellor hosts former Education Secretary at LJMU

   Justine Greening, former Secretary of State for Education visited Mark Power, Vice Chancellor (interim), this week to discuss LJMUs successful track record prioritising social mobility and inclusion.

7. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

8. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

   MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

9. Staff and students welcome changes to Highway Code that promote active travel

   Staff and students at LJMU have welcomed changes to the Highway Code that restructure the road hierarchy and prioritise walking and cycling.
