4. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

5. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

8. World record attempt for fastest human powered vehicle

   Sports scientists from Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University have helped to select riders to take on the World Human Power Speed Challenge, due to take place in September 2015.

9. Andrew McMillan announced winner of Guardian First Book Award 2015

   Creative Writing Lecturer, Andrew McMillan, has become the first poet to win the Guardian First Book Award with Physical, a ‘breathtaking’ collection that explores modern male anxiety in settings from the gym to northern industrial towns.

10. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

    A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
