1. World Environment Day 2022

   Ahead of World Environment Day this Sunday (5 June), were reaffirming our commitment to green initiatives and sustainability.

2. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

3. Yoko Ono wishes students ‘Happy John Lennon Day’ - 60 years since Beatles icon enrolled at LJMU

   LJMU recently hosted ‘John Lennon Day’ celebrating both his 77th birthday and the diamond anniversary of the Beatles icon’s enrolment as a Fine Art student at the university.

4. Art providing a ‘window into the world of the shepherdess’

   Liverpool School of Art and Designs Dr Patricia MacKinnon-Day is celebrated in a new publication that traces a decade of her work telling the stories of rural women through art and autoethnography.

5. St Patricks Day and Liverpool

   Following International Women’s Day (8 March) and ahead of St Patrick’s Day (17 March), our Diversity and Inclusion team is looking at some of the Irish women who have made a significant contribution to Liverpool.
