1. New Reading List Management System Launched.

   In January 2015 Library Services piloted the use of a reading list management system, Rebus:List with 27 academics across the University with a soft launch that Summer.

2. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

3. Sexual Violence Awareness Week

   Throughout Sexual Violence Awareness Week (Monday 4th – Sunday 10th February), a new team of staff from Student Advice and Wellbeing Services were out and about across the University to talk to students and staff about the impact sexual violence and harassment has on individuals and communities

4. North West Cross Institutional Action Learning for Women

   North West Cross Institutional Action Learning in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Chester University. A development opportunity for 13 LJMU women working in academic and professional services roles to develop leadership capability and overcome career related challenges

5. New LJMU intranet launched

   Staff and student homepages get new look and feel with improvements in access to news, announcements and quick links

6. GaP Training - Additonal Dates Available

   Additional training dates have now been made available as GaP (Grants and Projects) training has proved to be very popular.

7. New student complaints and appeals forms

   Student Complaints Forms and Appeals Forms are now available on the My LJMU Portal.

8. Visit to House of Lords to discuss how to support disabled graduates

   Keren Coney, Careers Adviser in Student Advancement: LJMU's Careers, Employability and Enterprise Service, was thrilled to go to the House of Lords to meet with Lord Shinkwin to discuss how to support disabled graduates as they seek to enter the workplace.

9. New family activity programme launched by ukactive

   Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is collaborating with ukactive, EdComs, Places for People Homes and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in a newly funded Sport England programme.

10. Malaysia Graduation 2018

    LJMU has established strong relationships in South East Asia, and a mark of this success is the annual graduation of students in Malaysia.
