1. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

2. LJMU receives £1.3million for new STFC data science training centre

   Liverpool John Moores University, in partnership with the University of Liverpool, are set to host a new £1.3million Centre for Doctoral Training providing comprehensive postgraduate training in data intensive science.

3. Exciting events at our new Student Life Building this month!

   Our brand new Student Life Building is open and to celebrate all our students being back on campus weve got lots of FREE and exciting activities planned for induction week (W/C 20th September).

4. Healthcare framework proposed to improve health of ageing populations

   An LJMU researcher is part of an international team of researchers who have put forward a position statement, published in Science, which lays out a new healthcare framework to help ageing populations stay healthier for longer.

5. LJMU produced films to be shown at COP26 in Glasgow

   LJMU films of how fast rising sea levels impact island communities will be shown to delegates at Glasgow COP26 next week.

6. Graduation review: Wednesday 10 July

   Students from Liverpool Screen School, the School of Law, Liverpool School of Art and Design and the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies received their awards.

7. LJMU's Outdoor Learning Area officially opens

   Trainee teachers and schoolchildren from across the Liverpool City Region are developing new skills and confidence thanks to LJMUs Outdoor Learning Area. The green space in the heart of the city centre has been officially opened this week and is already hugely popular with student teachers and school pupils.

   He was offered a job just fifteen minutes after creating a Wikipedia page and tweeting The Diary of a CEO host and BBC Dragon, Steven Bartlett. 9. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

10. World Walking Day 2021

    Its #WorldWalkingDay this weekend (3 October) and in partnership with The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), LJMU are encouraging our community to get walking!
