   Four Premier League professional match officials are receiving strength and conditioning training and physiotherapy sessions with LJMU sport scientists, under a new partnership.

3. Panama welcomes LJMU at world-famous canal launch

   A Liverpool delegation including Eddie Blanco-Davis, from LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology flew to Panama at the behest of the UK embassy in Panama to attend the official launch of the £3.9bn expansion of the Panama Canal.

4. Long service staff celebrate milestones

   Long service staff who have worked at the university for over 25 years were celebrated at an event at the Hilton, Liverpool last week.

7. Academic Staff Governor Elections

   Following the call for nominations, eight candidates are standing for election, with the election period opening on Monday 5 June and running until Monday 19 June.

8. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy update

   The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy (RPEL) has been updated to incorporate requirements for RPEL assessment for Apprenticeship programmes, and to reflect changes to governance related to RPEL.

9. Mental health lecturer launches website to help medical professionals support asylum seekers and refugees

   A new online resource hub to help health care professionals signpost refugees and asylum seekers to support services has been created by a senior lecturer in mental health at LJMU.

10. New way to request visitor parking and out of hours or security access

    Campus Support (Security) now has a number of staff request forms available via the LJMU HelpMe portal, to help with the management of requests.
