   Our Diversity and Inclusion team spoke to LJMU’s chaplains about the importance of Inter Faith Week, 12 to 19 November.

4. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

5. The First British Astronaut - Helen Sharman CMG OBE Is Coming To LJMU!

   On 17th March 2021 Helen Sharman, the first British person in Space and first British Astronaut will give a talk at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Helen will be speaking about her life and career as a scientist and as the first British astronaut.

6. City and University Leaders share race and equality lessons

   Six months after launching the Reciprocal Mentoring programme, prominent leaders from the city of Liverpool and the university came together on campus, to mark the halfway point of their innovative scheme to develop greater understanding between the university and the communities they serve.

7. Global Active Cities project shortlisted for THE International Collaboration award

   An LJMU spearheaded initiative to increase physical activity within cities across the globe has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award.

8. £20m project to launch first large electric ships

   LJMU joins a consortium with Bibby Marine, Port of Aberdeen, Shell, ORE Catapult, DNV and Kongsberg funded by Department of Transport

9. Demonstrating technology in action to stimulate ideas among SMEs

   Engineering and technology experts proved that ‘demonstration is key to stimulating ideas’ as they invited businesses from across Cheshire and Warrington onto campus to see research, simulation and innovation facilities.
