4. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

5. Long service staff celebrate milestones

   Long service staff who have worked at the university for over 25 years were celebrated at an event at the Hilton, Liverpool last week.

6. LJMU and Unite Students host inaugural 'Living Black at University' symposium

   A 'research into action symposium' has been held at LJMU. The event, organised by LJMU Associate Deans: Diversity and Inclusion, explored and shared the experiences of Black students at university and discussed how to turn the research into positive action.

7. Lecturer at LJMU scoops prestigious honour for Design and Technology education

   Matt McLain from LJMU’s School of Education has been honoured for his achievements in teacher training at the Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards held last month. The Design and Technology teachers of tomorrow may have a special someone to thank for inspiring them in their careers, if a special accolade awarded to an LJMU lecturer is anything to go by.

8. Bird feet similar to dinosaurs from 200 million years ago

   Footprints from birds bear remarkable similarity with those of dinosaurs from 200 million years ago, according to a new international study.

9. Journalism programmes receive NCTJ award for equality, diversity and inclusion

   The award recognises LJMU’s work on diversity and inclusion including the creation of a Diversity Reporting Guide and a planned Diversity in Journalism Teaching symposium.
