1. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

2. Jane Garvey Honorary Fellowship

   Read the oration for Jane Garvey in the presentation of her award as an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University.

3. Win Love to Shop vouchers in our COVID student survey

   To help reduce the spread of Covid, Public Health at Liverpool City Council are conducting a survey of LJMU students.

4. Vaping not permitted in LJMU buildings

   This is a reminder that vaping is not permitted in any building at Liverpool John Moores University.

5. Free student transport to our Freshers Fair

   Free coach and Merseyrail train travel to and from the event.

6. New arrangements for AV support

   We have a new system in place to support you in using audio visual and display technology in our teaching spaces.

7. Researchers reveal new findings into greatest scientific fraud

   A new analysis of the famous Piltdown Man forgeries, conducted by LJMU researchers, points the finger of suspicion even more firmly at their discoverer, Charles Dawson. The Piltdown Man scandal is arguably the greatest scientific fraud ever perpetrated in the UK, with fake fossils being claimed as evidence of our earliest ancestor.

9. Centre for Entrepreneurship wins international recognition

   LJMU’s Centre for Entrepreneurship has received international recognition after winning the title of ‘Outstanding Program Abroad’.

10. New Reading List Management System Launched.

    In January 2015 Library Services piloted the use of a reading list management system, Rebus:List with 27 academics across the University with a soft launch that Summer.
