3. Young people benefit from LJMU residential

   LJMU Outreach has welcomed 25 young people from 12 schools across the North West to its annual Year 10 residential, targeted specifically at those in local authority or residential care.

4. Island lizards offer new twist on theories of evolution

   Professor Richard Brown and Dr Carlo Meloro publish research in Communications Biology which shows divergence of a species of lizard despite cohabitation and gene exchange.

5. January exams: training for invigilators

   In anticipation of the January examination period, Academic Registry will be holding invigilation training sessions for LJMU staff throughout December.

6. New Professors and Readers

   LJMU has promoted five new professors and 34 new readers.

8. Staff car parking update August 2023

   The university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2024.

9. VC becomes Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside

   LJMU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Weatherill, has been made Deputy Lieutenant in the County of Merseyside, recognising his contribution to the region
