1. International Women's Day

   International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year; it is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights.

2. The War Widows Quilt to be displayed on Armed Forces Day in Liverpool

   On Saturday 24 June 2023, in honour of Armed Forces Day, St George’s Hall will host a special exhibition of the War Widows Quilt, part of the War Widows Stories project led by LJMU academic Dr Nadine Muller.

3. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

4. Discovery Internships for level 5 and 6 students open for applications

   The second round of paid Discovery Internships this semester are open until midnight on Sunday 17 December 2023. Interviews will take place before the end of January 2024 and the internships will begin from early February 2024 (start dates may vary for each role).

5. LJMU provide sport science at this week’s golf Open

   Professor Graeme Close leads nutritional and player recovery support at Royal Liverpool, Hoylake.

6. Northern Ireland Applicant Day

   On Saturday 2nd March, LJMU held its annual Northern Ireland Applicant Day in the Hilton Hotel Belfast.

7. Sign up to free wellbeing activities this Feel Fab Feb

   From free breakfasts and lunches, laundry product giveaways and writing for wellbeing workshops, LJMU has a month’s worth of free events for all students to get involved in this Feel Fab Feb.

8. Aurora 21/22 Open for Applications

   Advance HEs Aurora Womens Leadership Development programme is open for applications.

9. Staff car parking update August 2023

   The university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2024.

10. Yoko Ono wishes students ‘Happy John Lennon Day’ - 60 years since Beatles icon enrolled at LJMU

    LJMU recently hosted ‘John Lennon Day’ celebrating both his 77th birthday and the diamond anniversary of the Beatles icon’s enrolment as a Fine Art student at the university.
