2. LJMU Religion & Belief Workshops “Understanding religious diversity of our students and staff community”

   LJMUs Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with Zia Chaudhry (Director of LJMU Foundation for Citizenship), Zane Abdo (LJMU Muslim Adviser/Chaplin), Rabbi Natan Fagleman (LJMU Jewish Chaplain), Hannah Padfield (LJMU Anglican Chaplain), Father Neil Ritchie (LJMU Catholic Chapain) and other external consultants in order to offer LJMU Staff (& Students*), the opportunity to participate in a bespoke, half day Religion & Belief workshop.

3. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

4. Enhancements to 'See My Tutor'

   Changes to the See My Tutor system include a new landing page, enhancements to appointment booking, and the ability for tutors to capture and share notes from the meeting

5. Can supermarket trolleys help cut risk of stroke? - trials underway

   Shopping trolleys will be used to help save people from suffering a stroke by identifying irregular heartbeats, as part of a new medical trial.

6. Scientists unveil new weapon in war on animal poachers

   Wildlife experts have revealed a new artificial intelligence system at Knowsley Safari to help protect endangered species from poachers.

7. LJMU showcases new railway technology to industry

   Government-backed customer service technology developed at LJMU is to be showcased to potential clients in the railway industry.

8. Developing the diverse workforce of the future for engineering & technology

   We are excited to invite you to join us for a flagship LJMU event, Developing the diverse workforce of the future for engineering and technology, jointly organised by the IEEE UK&I Women in Engineering affinity group whose chair is based at LJMU. We are delighted to welcome international representatives from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) to join in this important conversation, as part of their 140th year celebrations. The aim of this event is to bring together key stakeholders from the university, industry, government and accreditation bodies to start the conversation on this topic and consider next steps in our goal to work with stakeholders to lead the way for diversity and inclusion in engineering and technology skills in the North West. There is an exciting opportunity to meet and network with industry and academic leaders.

   Come along to our make do and mend workshop where you can learn how to do basic repairs to your clothing.

10. Let's Make! Upcycled Christmas Jumpers

    To help you get into the festive spirit, the Environmental Sustainability and Energy team and Staff Wellbeing Team at LJMU are holding an upcycling workshop where you can transform an old garment into a Christmas jumper or t-shirt!
