5. Were sauropods swimmers or walkers?

   An international team of scientists, led by the China University of Geosciences in Beijing and including palaeontologists from the Liverpool John Moores University, has shed new light on some unusual dinosaur tracks from northern China. The tracks appear to have been made by four-legged sauropod dinosaurs yet only two of their feet have left prints behind.

6. Royal Television Society Award winners

   Two Media Production graduates won Royal Television Society (RTS) awards for their documentary ‘One Eye Open.’ Ian Garden and Josie Webster came first in the Factual Category at the annual Student Television Awards, held at the Lowry Theatre, MediaCityUK.

10. Massive stars sound warning they are about to go supernova

    In a new study, published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, researchers have for the first time simulated how these massive stars seemingly fade away and disappear when they enter their pre-explosion phase.
