1. LJMU Vice-Chancellor to Chair 'Channel 4 to Liverpool Partnership'

   Read more about the new partnership that will ‘bid’ for Channel 4 to relocate its London base to Liverpool.

2. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

   LJMU has announced a second panel event to debate relocating Channel 4, from its current London base.

   Liverpool has announced it is to submit a “compelling bid” to host Channel 4’s new national headquarters.

   LJMU is currently in the process of mapping around six major capital developments across the city centre, the majority to be completed by 2020.

9. Restrictions on using USBs for students and staff

   From 4 September students will be no longer able to use USB storage devices on LJMU equipment. This is alongside the restrictions already in place for staff.
