   The scheme has supported more than 100 high-class doctoral students in becoming part of our vibrant research community, which is delivering world-leading and internationally-excellent research across the institution.

2. Vice Chancellor's Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019

   A summary of the winners of the VC Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019 conferred at the University Research and Innovation Day in June.

3. LJMU PHD student Valeria Carini recognised at Pandemic Institute’s first Student Excellence Awards

   Valeria was presented the award alongside students from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine with grants for scientific research, aimed to enhance preparedness for future pandemics.

4. Thesis Boot Camp

   PGRs attended 2 day residential writing event, at Gladstone's Library in Wales.

5. eDoc - A new postgraduate online progression system

   eDocs launch coincided with the centenary of the PhD qualification in the UK

6. Industry trip wins Data Science students €25,000

   Young research students who won a major European data science competition have shared a prize of 50,000!

7. Postgraduate Research Festival

   The programme included 3MT Final, Poster Competition and career insights from Alumni and external organisations

8. Scholarships for people of colour on policing course

   Opportunities for people of colour in specialist policing roles including counter-terrorism are being made available thanks to a partnership involving Liverpool John Moores University.

9. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

10. Graduation review: Friday 12 July 2019

    As graduation week ended, the final graduands of July 2019 arrived at Liverpool Cathedral with their friends and families to receive their awards.
