   Student Complaints Forms and Appeals Forms are now available on the My LJMU Portal.

2. Astronomers catch Tatooine multiple star system as it forms

   For the first time astronomers, including Dr Richard Parker, of the Astrophysics Research Institute at LJMU, have caught a multiple-star system as it is created, and their observations are providing new insight into how such systems, and possibly the solar system, are formed. The amazing images taken from a series of telescopes on Earth show clouds of gas which are in the process of developing into stars.

4. LJMU presented with silver award for support of the Armed Forces community

   The university was celebrated alongside other Northwest-based organisations for its commitment to the Armed Forces community at the Defence Relationship Management (DRM) Merseyside Silver Awards 2023.

5. LJMU awarded HEFCE funding to raise awareness of zero tolerance approach to harassment

6. New way to request visitor parking and out of hours or security access

   Campus Support (Security) now has a number of staff request forms available via the LJMU HelpMe portal, to help with the management of requests.

7. Silver award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the silver award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how it provides support to the Armed Forces community.

8. 'Modern slavery is a global issue'

   The International Day for the Abolition of Slavery is marked on 2 December. Dr Scott Foster, Reader in Post Graduate Research Culture, spoke to our Diversity and Inclusion team.

10. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

    LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.
