1. Grants and Projects (GaP) System is Live!

   Research and Innovation Services and Finance are now using the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system.

2. Get Trained on GaP

   All grant funded projects and knowledge exchange projects must be recorded on the GaP system from April 2020

3. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

4. LJMU PHD student Valeria Carini recognised at Pandemic Institute’s first Student Excellence Awards

   Valeria was presented the award alongside students from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine with grants for scientific research, aimed to enhance preparedness for future pandemics.

   After consideration of all applications to the University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme, the projects to receive funding have been announced.

8. Study reveals new insights into the origins of Scotland's mysterious Picts

   A newly published study in PLOS genetics led by School of Biology and Environmental Sciences experts Dr Adeline Morez, Prof Joel D. Irish and Dr Linus Girdland Flink is helping to shed new light on the origins of Scotland’s Picts.

9. Art and Design students travel the world

   The annual Susan Cotton and Sue Dunthorne Travel awards are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the school, designed to enhance students personal and career development through travel and impactful experiences. Successful applicants for the Susan Cotton Awards receive a budget of £1500 to spend on the trip of a life to their choice of destinations, while the Sue Dunthorne Travel Bursary is an award of £500 to travel anywhere in the UK or overseas.
