  3. Sexual and reproductive health

    HIV services and prevention work within the North West of England utilise the Public Health Institute's interactive tools, databases, and intelligence work. We offer assistance through evaluations and research into: contraception, teenage pregnancy, STDs, young people's health.   5. Drugs

    Public Health Institute provides insight into drug use. We support evidence based drugs policy through epidemiology, monitoring, evidence review, intervention evalution and research.

  6. Intelligence and surveillance

    The Public Health Institute's data collection and monitoring systems support public health reporting. Our surveillance systems include: Integrated Monitoring System, Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group, HIV Surveillance and the Drug Interventions Programme.

  7. Global Health

    International Health is a cross-cutting theme at the Institute for Health Research, and represents all LJMU research active staff collaborating with overseas partners and conducting international health research and evaluation.

  8. Environmental Monitoring and Control

    The Environmental Monitoring and Control research theme is focused on addressing global challenges and sustainable development goals related to quality monitoring systems for sustainable agriculture, novel technologies for good health and well-being monitoring, sustainable management, and quality monitoring of water resources.

  9. Impact and evaluation

    The Student Voice and Evaluation team developed the LJMU Evaluation Framework to support the University to build evaluation capacity, knowledge, and skills. It also provides an avenue to demonstrate impact and share good practice.

  10. Substance Use and Behavioural Addictions

    Our Substance Use and Behavioural Addictions research group conduct world leading research into the causes and consequences of substance use on an individual and societal level
