1. LJMU Assessment 4 – 14 January 2022

   As we approach our assessment period early next year, this note is to provide you with important preparation information and to confirm that exams will take place in person (with the exception of Levels 3 and 4).

2. Majority of April and May exams to be held online

   Most exams in April and May 2022 will be held online. There are a small number of examinations which will be held in-person due to specific requirements of the professional body.

3. Support over the spring break and what to do in Liverpool

   For most of our students following the standard academic calendar, the spring break runs from 9 to 24 April. Whether you are heading home or staying around Liverpool, here is some advice on where to go, what to do if you need help and support and those all important Library opening times.

4. Don’t miss our Welcome Event for new students

   LJMU offers a wide range of different services for students – from money advice and study skills workshops to careers guidance and free gym membership.

5. Volunteer stories: giving back to the LFC community

   Brett Duffy, Science and Football student received a Student Volunteer Award for his contribution to the LFC Foundation.

6. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

7. Formula Student road to Silverstone explored in new 1823 Podcast

   In a special edition of the LJMU 1823 Podcast: The road to Silverstone, Dr Christian Matthews is joined by LJMU e-Racing Head of Team 2022, MSc student Cameron Reedy, and former Head of Team, Rhian Griffith, who now works as a mechanical engineer at the Small Robot Company.

8. New social media policy

   The university has launched its new social media policy to help staff get the most out of their communications and to stay safe.

9. One to one appointments for careers advice

   Our Student Futures: Careers, Employability and Enterprise team has a range of careers support over December and the festive break.

10. 'First Class Honours' for social mobility

    Welcome news this week that LJMU is amongst the UKs top performing universities for enabling social mobility.
