Aspiring Leaders from BAME Communities Informal Networking Event
Aspiring Leaders from BAME Communities Informal Networking Event
On Thursday 14th November 2019 (12.30pm – 3.30pm), Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) will host a BAME into Leadership network event in partnership with BME Leadership Network (BLN) and Parrett Laver a recruitment company that assist HEIs with recruiting top level positions.
It is still the case that Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people remain largely under-represented in top/senior level positions.
The event aims to raise awareness of top level vacancies, where to look for them and how to be successful in the recruitment process. We plan to put measures in place to address the issues raised on that day. We are very pleased with the interest this event has generated already and truly excited by the prospect of having BAME professionals discuss the issue of under-representation of BAME people in top/ senior level positions.
Our panel of speakers will debate the issues, share their experiences of how they were able to make progress in their careers, the challenges they were up against and how they were able to overcome such challenges. After the talks, the panel of speakers will field questions from the audience.
Our hope is that this event will help BAME people to achieve their goals and dreams.
