New LGBT+ Research Hub

Dr Michael Birchall, Senior Lecturer in Exhibition Studies in Partnership with Tate Liverpool is setting up an LGBT+ Research Hub and is looking to bring together colleagues with research interests in this area.

Michael said: ‘After undertaking a Stonewall LGBT+ Leadership Course, I realised the potential of establishing a research group at the university. At LJMU there is a wide range of research taking place under the LGBT+ umbrella, spanning a range of disciplines, from History and Visual Arts, to Social Science and Public Health. I’m sure there are many colleagues who are doing complimentary work but are not yet capitalising on their shared research interests.’

The aim of the research hub will be to bring together researchers from across faculties to share expertise, mentor, and facilitate collaborations. The intention is to generate tangible outcomes such as combining forces to secure grant funding, publications etc.

In order to align the aims of the group, a development day will take place on September 26th, 10am-3.30pm at Liverpool Tate.  The day will be facilitated by Mel Jones, Researcher Development Advisor.

If you would like to attend or if you are unable to attend but are interested in being a part of the research hub, please contact Michael before 30th August at: m.g.birchall@ljmu.ac.uk
