JMSU Amazing Teaching Award 2022 Winners Announced



The winners of the John Moores Students’ Union Amazing Teaching Awards 2022 have been announced with 15 winners across six categories.

The awards, which are in their 11th year, were held at a ceremony in the Student Life Building following a two-year online hiatus. 

Students were asked to nominate LJMU members of staff and student reps who go above and beyond to put students at the heart of everything they do.  

Vice-Chancellor Mark Power opened the ceremony thanking all those nominated for “striving to provide an exceptional service to our students.” 

The award winners, presented by JMSU VP for Education Charlotte Clayton Hayes, alongside fellow officers VP Community and Wellbeing Ambar Eninis, VP for Student Activities Pedrom Tavakolli and Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Experience, Phil Vickerman, are:

Amazing Teacher - James Woollacott, Paramedic Science 

Amazing Course - Art and Design Foundation, Architecture 

Amazing Personal Tutor - Robyn Lotto, PhD Supervisor in Faculty of Health 

Amazing Digital Teaching and Learning - Jonathan Davies, Pharmacy 

Amazing Professional Services Star - Melanie Baxter, Faculty Research Project Support Officer - Liverpool Business School 

Amazing Student Experience - Rose Dooley, Corporate Communications Officer 

Officer Awards: 

President - Catherine Ryan 

VP Education - Nicola Koyama 

VP Community and Wellbeing - Colin Cox 

VP Activities - James Cullen 

Amazing Student Rep: 

Melissa Edwards, Sports Journalism 

Caitlin Mann, Business with Finance 

Myles Hout, Software Engineering 

Nicola Telfer, Paramedic Science 

Amy Speers, Biology 

Pro-Vice Chancellor Phil Vickerman closed the ceremony by thanking staff for all their hard work. He said: 

“We are all part of what makes LJMU fantastic and these awards are proof that every contact with our students count. Well done to all the winners.”
