Growing satisfaction among students with their studies at Liverpool John Moores has pushed the university up an impressive 20 places in the Sunday Times Good University Guide.*

After the difficulties of lockdown and the pandemic, student satisfaction at LJMU has come bouncing back with 78.5% of students ‘satisfied’ - 2.3% above the average for UK universities.

In the North West, only students at Lancaster and Bolton universities expressed a higher happiness rate.

Students 'at the heart'

Phil Vickerman, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Students, said: “Feedback about rising satisfaction at LJMU clearly reflects our objective of putting students at the heart of everything we do as our No1 priority.

“Students have overcome multiple obstacles thrown at them by the pandemic and the university has responded strongly to match their expectations.

“Our teaching and support staff enjoyed good feedback right across the National Student Survey, achieving above benchmark scores in six of the main areas students were quizzed about.”

Students were especially satisfied with academic support, course organisation, communication from staff and learning resources.

5th in north west

LJMU has risen 20 places in the table from 91^st to 71^st and is currently ranked 5^th out of the 12 universities in the north west, ahead of Edge Hill, Hope, Chester, Salford, Uclan, Bolton and Cumbria.
