LJMU provides largest numbers of tutors in Merseyside

Students paid £21 per hour to support local primary schools

Over the past year, LJMU’s partnership with The Tutor Trust has seen LJMU students and alumni deliver nearly 1,100 hours of tuition, for over 300 pupils.

The amount of tuition undertaken by LJMU students, working in local underrepresented schools in Merseyside to support primary school children, has surpassed many other institutions across the region, including other universities in Liverpool.

How to become a tutor

The Tutor Trust has partnered with LJMU for several years, providing paid work opportunities to current students and alumni.

Tutor opportunities are open to all university students, of any level and any area of study. You do not need to be in training for a teaching qualification, or want to go into education, the opportunity is about giving back to the local community.

Students who work for the Tutor Trust get paid £21 per hour and the opportunity is flexible to fit around your studies.

Working with the LJMU Student Futures team, The Tutor Trust is set to attend many career events throughout the rest of the academic year.

You can find out more about The Tutor Trust and how to apply here.

Or get in touch with our Student Futures team to discuss the opportunity.
