Highlighting our Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan

Guiding principles, key priorities and themes

The redesigned Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan 2030 is outlining the guiding principles, key priorities and themes fundamental to our identity and ambition.

As part of the plan, the four guiding principles highlight LJMU’s commitment and support of Research and Knowledge Exchange, with a commitment to:

  • Ambition

  • Collaboration

  • Transformation

  • Integrity

All staff can view the plan which also summarises the institution’s research priorities and key performance indicators, including embedding an inclusive research culture, delivering teaching inspired by research, engaging in impactful RKE with our local and international partners, plus developing an intellectually curious postgraduate research community.

Created by the University Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee in collaboration with Research and Innovation Services, the Doctoral Academy and other stakeholders across the university, the Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan directly supports LJMU’s vision and forms a key part of the Strategic Plan 2030.

Professor Keith George, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange said:

“The aim of The Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan 2030 is to continue to embed and grow a culture and environment that sustains and supports the growth of our research community and promotes our areas of excellence.

“We will draw upon our high-quality scholarship to deliver inspiring curricula shaped by current thought. Our work will produce transformational knowledge exchange with a wide range of partners and sectors, and we will continue to support a growing and diverse postgraduate research community across multiple programmes of study. This in turn will mean LJMU’s research and knowledge exchange continues to have a profoundly transformational impact across the globe.”
