Computer Science and Mathematics BBC Microbit challenge

Welcome to the School of Computer Science and Mathematics!

As a welcome to our School, you have been given a small programmable computer, the BBC micro:bit.

If you are new to programming or want to further practice your skills, this is a good place to start. We have put together some exercises which will have you up and running with programming very quickly. You will be able to take on some interesting and useful projects directly related to your degree programme.

Computing and mathematics courses at LJMU are real world, ‘hands-on’ degrees with much practical content. This practical content is taught from a sound theoretical basis: This enables students to graduate with many practical skills whilst also providing them with the theoretical or mathematical underpinnings for these skills. This endows the student with adaptability and the ability to pick up new skills quickly that employers in the technical and digital industries are seeking in their employees.

Below you will find two tasks. The first will help you get started and the second will progress your skills even further! Please check back as we will be adding new tasks monthly.

Getting Started - Task 1

Programming - Task 2
