Our Digital Health
Our Digital Health is a research project, led by Professor Darren Chadwick, that looks at how people with learning disabilities use technology to support their health and wellbeing. Funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, the project explores the different ways people experience digital health—seeing what works well for them and what could be improved.
The project unfolds in several phases: first, we held focus groups with people with learning disabilities and their carers to learn about their experiences. Next, we developed a survey to help us understand how people participate in digital health. Some participants will then keep “digital diaries” to record their day-to-day use of technology for health and wellbeing. Finally, we will bring people with learning disabilities together in workshops to develop practical ideas for making digital health easier to access and use. See our Project Overview tab for more details about each phase.
By working closely with people with learning disabilities, Our Digital Health aims to make digital health tools more inclusive and helpful for everyone.
