1. First day of 2015 graduation ceremonies

   Monday 13 July saw the first of the 2015 LJMU graduation ceremonies take place at Liverpool Cathedral

2. LJMU appoints new Pro-Vice-Chancellor

   Liverpool John Moores University has appointed a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor for External Engagement and Partnerships Dr Aileen Jones, who is currently Executive Director of Investment and Delivery at the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, will take up post at the university in September.

3. Mersey Maritime welcomes LJMU as 'valued' member

   Mersey Maritime is widely recognised as the UK’s leading maritime cluster organisation bringing together industry, government, national trade bodies and academia to champion, grow and protect the UK maritime industry particularly in the North-West.

4. LJMU developing climate institute

   LJMU is developing proposals to launch our own climate institute and we want to involve staff who can help it make an impact.

5. LJMU to host major global astronomy and space science event

   LJMU has won its bid to host the European Week of Astronomy and Space Science (EWASS) in 2018.

   An update on the work happening at LJMU to better support staff going through the menopause.

7. Future Fortnight: 28 February to 11 March – open to all students

   Join the Student Futures team for a series of events helping you think about your future goals. The sessions are friendly, open to students from any programme or year group and will help you gain clarity on your next steps.

8. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

   From this month LJMU will begin publishing all student and staff security card photos into Microsofts 365 suite of products.

9. Chancellor sees "extraordinary" health students in action

   LJMU Chancellor, Nisha Katona MBE, dropped in for a visit to the Faculty of Health and was moved by the “extraordinary students” that she spoke with and learnt new skills from.

10. LJMU PHD student Valeria Carini recognised at Pandemic Institute’s first Student Excellence Awards

    Valeria was presented the award alongside students from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine with grants for scientific research, aimed to enhance preparedness for future pandemics.
