1. Take charge of your pension

   This Pension Awareness Week (11-15 September) access free, impartial, and straightforward pension information, as well as a series of live sessions.

2. Register for the Students at the Heart Conference 2024

   Staff and students can now register to attend the conference, with various workshops and sessions taking place across the two days, in the Redmonds and Student Life buildings, on LJMU campus.

3. New Teaching and Learning Academy policies

   Two new policies will support teaching staff in their development through peer exchange and direct observation.

4. Ten students spend life changing summer in Nepal

   The ten students and now LJMU graduates, visited Nepal for a month-long Turing funded trip, working on the Dignity Without Danger (DWD) research project.

5. Kind staff and students support Whitechapel Centre Christmas appeal

   Warm clothes, selection boxes, toiletry sets and Christmas foods were among the items collected and donated by staff and students.

6. Bollywood creatives work with LJMU students on musical theatre production

   See the production - Fireflies - at the university’s drama studio on Thursday 30 May and Friday 31 May.

7. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

8. 'Reclaiming narratives' for Black History Month 2024

   As we mark Black History Month in the UK this October, our Associate Director for Diversity and Inclusion, Moni Akinsanya, shares her thoughts on celebrating this year’s theme while reflecting on recent events over the summer months.

9. Student Life and Sports Building win Best New Build Project award

   LJMU’s Copperas Hill development has won an award for the Best New Build Project at the Merseyside Civic Design Awards.

10. Could your team offer a work experience placement?

    Our work experience programme is looking for expressions of interest from staff and teams across the university for a Year 10 pupil to undertake a placement within your department.
