6. Marine technology professor wins two prestigious research awards

   Professor Jin Wang from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology has recently won the following prestigious awards: Outstanding Contribution to Marine Safety award for 2017 and the 2017 Royal Institution of Naval Architecture (RINA).

7. Research active staff urged to join focus groups

   Research active staff are being invited, by the LJMU Concordat Steering Group, to participate in a focus group on the research environment and culture at LJMU.

8. LJMU relations with Nepal strengthened after researchers meet with President

   Researchers from LJMU have met with the President of Nepal, the Right honourable Bidhya Devi Bhandari, to discuss issues relating to education, gender, women's rights and social justice. Dr Sara Parker from Sociology, School of Humanities and Social Science and Rose Khatri from the Centre for Public Health recently met with the President and spoke for almost two hours.
