1. New Professors and Readers

   LJMU has promoted five new professors and 34 new readers.

2. Chair and Panel Member Briefing Sessions

   Three in-person sessions are being offered in Exchange Station for academic colleagues who wish to become a Validation/Periodic Programme Review chair or panel member.

3. Chief Constable delivers Spring Lecture at LJMU

   Chief Constable Craig Guildford of West Midlands Police delivered his spring lecture at LJMU last week. The lecture titled Turning the Tanker: Reflections on 18 Months as Chief Constable of West Midlands Police was held in the Redmonds Building and saw Chief Constable Guildford share his strategic initiatives, and thoughts on the importance of community engagement, and the future direction of the force.

   The Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan 2030 outlines the guiding principles, key priorities and themes fundamental to LJMU's identity and ambition.

7. Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair

   The Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 18 October at the Student Life Building, 12-3pm. It will feature 60+ organisations from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines. If you have a disability, health condition or are neurodivergent and find busy fairs can be overwhelming, join us from 11am for our accessibility hour.

8. Additional workshops available for leaders and managers

   The Organisational Development teams’ LJMU Leadership Enhancement And Development (LEAD) programme has added another two workshop sessions.

9. Passion for gender equity inspires international partnership to promote Women in Science

   Women scientists at LJMU have won a grant to share our institutional learnings on gender equality with partner institutions in Brazil.
