1. Educate North Awards 2017 nominations

   LJMU has been shortlisted for University of the Year plus several other categories in this year’s Educate North Awards.

2. Revised new student welcome webpages now live

   Staff are encouraged to take a look through the information we are sharing with new students before the start of the 2023/24 academic year.

3. Induction September 2024 update

   As the whole university looks towards the beginning of the next standard academic year, this all staff update offers an overview of the work being undertaken to register and welcome our new students.

4. Ethnically diverse and Ethnic minority to substitute the BAME Acronym across LJMU

   Following a university wide survey and subsequent focus groups, ethnically diverse or ethnic minority are to replace the use of BAME across the university.

5. LJMU Staff Networks and plans for 2022 

   We caught up with the co-chairs of the current LJMU staff networks to find out what they have already achieved and what their plans are for 2022.  

6. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

7. Support for care experienced students to be enhanced beyond graduation

   A £50,000 donation will be used to help end the ‘care cliff’ for LJMU students as they finish their studies.

8. New Online Development Resources for LJMU Staff

   Two new online modules on Resilience and Appraisals are available from the Learning and Development Foundation

9. Aurora Women's Leadership Programme reopens to applicants

   More places are available on the Advance HE Aurora Womens Leadership Programme.

10. Honorary Fellow Sir Jon Murphy

    Sir Jon Murphy QPM received an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University on Thursday 27 November 2014 in recognition of his exceptional services to policing and community relations.
